Thank you everybody for coming by to see us at our Easy Street Record pop-up, out at the Gorge. This was our 14th year in a row out at Sasquatch!. We sell all the CDs/LPs and some swag for the bands, while hosting artists' meet-n-greets & signings. It was a busy four-day weekend. We had 50 artists/bands come by our lil shop. What record did you buy? What band did you meet? What new band did you discover? What was your top five? Who was your favorite Easy Street clerk?
In my handicapper tipsheet last week, I told you to check out The Internet...did you? King Gizzard? Nathaniel Rateliff? Of the headliners, I loved the Cure…again. I missed Chet Faker, but I could hear him and heard it was great, he has a full band now. Kurt Vile delivered again. I gotta hand it to Florence and the Machine though. I don’t own any of her records, we sell a ton at the shop and I’ve always liked what I’ve heard. I made sure to check her out. She was an angelic, a whirling dervish, heartfelt and beautiful. If I never get to see Kate Bush, I will be satisfied to say that I at least saw Florence and the Machine.
So, what surprised me that I didn’t have on my radar? Fauna Shade from Everett, WA. Had no idea who they were , but a friend and I were walking by and were drawn to the Yeti stage mid-afternoon. Please support them, they are killer. Deep Sea Diver also…you will continue to hear more about them, beautiful rendition of Bowie’s “Sound and Vision” to end their set, btw. Grimes, damn, the girl does everything, she is a bad-ass, great band as well.
We’d like to thank Adam Zacks from Sasquatch! and Brad Gentry from Live Nation for believing in us. It’s a great opportunity for the band to be able to sell their records and really cool opportunity for fans to meet with their favorite bands.
So, what was our best seller? Which band had the biggest line to meet 'em? See below… Here are some photos for you to enjoy taken by our new Sasquatch! crew member, Ryan Cory! See you next year! From your Easy Street Sasquatchers….
