Review: Brother Ali - "Mourning In America & Dreaming In Color"
Brother Ali is excellent at making people uncomfortable while simultaneously informed. To chalk him up as just another political activist, would be doing him and yourself a discredit. Ever since Brother Ali took his place at the Rhymesayers label with groups like Atmosphere and P.O.S he’s made it his own personal mission to change the world no matter how unreasonable that sounds. Mourning In America and Dreaming In Color is Ali’s fifth full-length album, which is told primarily through his ever-present preaching-like narrative. Ali’s sharp wit and clever wordplay is implemented as usual and helps to solidify his extremely genuine personality that seems like it will never back down.
