Roxy Music (Re-mastered)

by Matt Vaughan

In 1972, Lou Reed released Transformer, T Rex released The Slider, and Bowie dropped Ziggy Stardust. Call it art rock, glam rock, or just androgyny, but either way, boundaries were being broken and the '70s were taking off. With Bryan Ferry’s romantic wails, Brian Eno’s synthesized landscape, and Phil Manzanera’s underrated guitar work, this record remains fashionably cool and influential, maybe more now than ever. It is certainly a debate to discuss Roxy with Eno and then without, but no matter what side you are on, it started here. If you are planning a trashy cocktail party, put this record on. The girls start to look cuter and the boys become more dashing. Newly re-mastered!

  1. All Roxy Music albums are great, but the debut is unlike any of their others. I can’t wait to hear it remastered.
